CME Group is expanding its cryptocurrency derivatives lineup by introducing options trading for Solana and XRP futures starting October 13. This marks the exchange's first move beyond Bitcoin and Ether derivatives, driven by strong institutional demand. SOL futures have recorded $22.3 billion in volume since March, while XRP futures reached $942 million in open interest during August.

The new offerings will include both standard and micro-sized contracts with daily, monthly, and quarterly expirations. According to Giovanni Vicioso, CME's head of crypto products, institutional appetite has been a primary catalyst for this expansion.

In related developments, DBS Bank has partnered with Franklin Templeton and Ripple to list tokenized fund sgBENJI against the RLUSD stablecoin. This collaboration introduces innovative trading pairs and upcoming lending products, highlighting the accelerating convergence between traditional finance and digital assets.
